...I built my career on a foundation of environmental conservation and academia, followed by a decade and a half at a small water resources engineering firm where versatility, initiative, and hands-on expertise were essential. As the primary GIS specialist and manager, I have worn many hats—leading GIS projects, performing advanced spatial analysis, developing web maps, maintaining databases, and producing high-quality cartography. Rather than focusing on a single specialty, I developed a broad, practical skill set that allows me to guide projects from initial concept through implementation and long-term support. I now hope to bring this experience back to the environmental nonprofit sector and contribute to the conservation of our natural resources.
For dam safety projects across California, I developed dam failure inundation maps from model outputs that illustrated flood extent, water depth, arrival times, and developed tools to assess total economic impacts based on inundation at each building under potential failure scenarios.
